Raising dairy goats is a family affair. My husband and I love getting our kids involved in the farm life. They are always in the barn during feeding, cleaning and milking. We have them help out as much as they can. After watching us milk our Nubian doe Candy a few times, our almost 3 year old daughter decided she wanted to try it.....she is a natural and loves to do it. Our children get to see where there milk comes from. They get to feed the chickens and gather the eggs, and in the summer they get to pick the fruits and vegetables and eat them that night. We couldn't think of a better way to raise our children.

Welcome to Feisty Farm! We are a small hobby farm in Brookville, Indiana raising miniature dairy goats, with a focus on miniature alpines. Along with our goats, we have chickens, ponies, horses and dogs. Our goal as a family is to be as self sufficient as possible. We milk our goats and use the milk for milk, cheese, yogurt, and soap. We also can and freeze all of our own vegetables, fruits, and jams from produce raised right here on the farm. It is our goal to one day to be self sufficient in our meat, as well as, our household energy through solar and wind power. It is a big goal, but is one that we are working towards. Through this blog, we hope to introduce you to our way of life, and help you live a littler simpler. We will introduce you to our goats and chickens and the products that come from them! Stay tuned....we will have goat kids coming at the end of May!! They will be for sale, so if you are interested, please contact us!!!
